I had a conversation with some teabaggers. They were, at that time, pushing for "personhood" (where eggs gain rights that the woman loses). They eventually admitted that it was part of a grander scheme to return to "constitutional purity" (before the Bill of Rights). They asserted that the first ten amendments corrupted the Constitution, and any subsequent amendments should be done away with. I asked his wife, who was nodding her head at everything he said, if she was willing to go back to having no rights, back to when people of color were denied any rights and could be owned by white people; the silly bobblehead said that it would only be temporary until 'purity' could be restored. I asked him if he really did intend to take my rights away, and he just stuck out his chin and insisted that it would be necessary. "And would I get those rights back?", to which he just smiled as he walked away with his wife dutifully following behind his Gadsden flag.

None of this anti-abortion fervor is about babies. It's ALL about taking away women's rights one bit at a time.
