Related: About this forumMike Malloy mocks Ted Cruz's anti-gay paranoia and hypocritical "pro life" people
Mike Malloy returns from his vacation TONIGHT at 9pm Eastern! Listen live on the Progressive Voices channel on Tunein.com and the Tunein app!
Opening of July 24, 2013 "Mike Malloy Show":
If it's Wednesday night, it's CHURCH NIGHT! Mike Malloy opens the show with a remembrance of his childhood "church nights" growing up in Ohio then takes on stories of religious craziness and absent minds, this segment:
- "In a recent interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network, host David Brody told Cruz that activists saw the opposition to same sex marriage as "hate speech from the pulpit."
"If you look at other nations that have gone down the road towards gay marriage, that's the next step of where it gets enforced," Cruz agreed. "It gets enforced against Christian pastors who decline to perform gay marriages, who speak out and preach biblical truths on marriage, that has been defined elsewhere as hate speech, as inconsistent with the enlightened view of government.""
- At the New York Times, Eduardo Porter reports: " Conservatives have a particularly soft spot for babies. They tend to have more children than liberals and they are much more likely to oppose abortion rights. They also appreciate babies' power... But there is an odd inconsistency in conservatives' stance on procreation: many also support some of the harshest cuts in memory to government benefit programs for families and children."
