Related: About this forumSmiling - Obama & Biden Take A Walk
&feature=youtu.beThis restaurant is giving a 10% discount to workers in DC who have been furloughed. President Obama decided to take a walk from the White House to that restaurant to buy some lunch and thank the establishment. Its also a good bit of political theater. Obama does seem like an approachable pol that people seem to like when they meet. And contrary to what certain people like to say about Obama and aloofness he always seems pretty at ease around the common folk outside the beltway bubble. He seems to have a comfort that GWB just didnt seem to have outside his beltway circle.

that the Speaker and his henchmen wouldn't DARE take a public stroll like this!

They'd have to run away and hide...

A Republican congressman got in the face of a park ranger who was working without pay, thanks in part to his actions.
A Democratic president personally thanked a business manager and his personnel for helping out furloughed federal workers.
Both were political theater, but which was smart and decent and which was stupid and mean?
Thank you, Mr President.

how he is doing a great job. I think that would have been all our messages to him!
