Thom Hartmann: Fukushima is collapsing - the worst is coming...

Paul Gunter, Beyond Nuclear, joins Thom Hartmann. There are new concerns coming out of Japan - as the stricken Number 4 reactor at the Daichii nuclear power plant is on the verge of collapsing. How is TEPCO responding to this newest threat - and can they stop a complete nuclear disaster?

This is something we call is irresponsible act they are doing. Japan is the place that should be most careful about nuclear power as they know the disaster that may take place and still they are careless.

Should have never been built. Whoever came up with this idea didn't take into account man's fallibility nor his proclivity to rush headlong into disaster totally blind. Not to mention no plan B. Living in FL am worried about the seafood too. Along with the beach water, the air and rain. The Japanese people are so exposed it's terrifying.

Fl as several, one for sure in the path of rising water near Miami.
We have no plan of how to dismantle these things, how to pay for it (US government will be stuck with the bill), or what to do with the radioactive mess that remains.
Time to start thinking about turning them all off and moving on to a safe, clean power.
Japan is over their head and the world needs to step up and help before it gets worse.
I don't know if it is possible to avert a huge disaster to the world.

I haven't eaten any since the BP oil spill in the Gulf. Since Japan, I have given up hope of enjoying shrimp, lobsters, crabs, etc..

I was among some of the first workers to help N.O. after Katrina. I stayed there close to a year. I love the people and the area but (according to the NRC whose officials abandoned Union carpenters in Ohio after they informed us that we had been exposed to nuclear waste while building storage facilities in Cincinnati) I have been exposed to radiation already and I am afraid of current seafood.

I am now disabled and suffering heart failure. I want to enjoy my grandchildren. My earning potential is now limited to my disability checks. As a Union carpenter, I enjoyed a (what I consider) a solidly middle class living.

Our oceans (75% of our earth) has become a poisonous dumping ground.

Nuclear power is insanity. Our earth cannot tolerate anymore.
