RFK Jr. is one of those crazies, when it comes to vaccines and autism.

He still insists that vaccines cause autism, when all the *REAL* science says he's dead wrong.

CDC No Longer Denying Vaccine/Autism Link?
By Ginger Taylor

So the Actual Reporter, eagle eye Sharyll Attkisson posted this note on her facebook page... and apparently CDC has had the following on their autism page on the CDC web site for 18 months:

Causes and Risk Factors

We do not know all of the causes of ASDs. However, we have learned that there are likely many causes for multiple types of ASDs. There may be many different factors that make a child more likely to have an ASD, including environmental, biologic and genetic factors.

* Most scientists agree that genes are one of the risk factors that can make a person more likely to develop an ASD.

* Children who have a sibling or parent with an ASD are at a higher risk of also having an ASD.

* ASDs tend to occur more often in people who have certain genetic or chromosomal conditions. About 10% of children with ASDs also have been identified as having Down syndrome, fragile X syndrome, tuberous sclerosis, or other genetic and chromosomal disorders.

* When taken during pregnancy, the prescription drugs valproic acid and thalidomide have been linked with a higher risk of ASDs.

* We know that the once common belief that poor parenting practices cause ASDs is not true.

* There is some evidence that the critical period for developing ASDs occurs before birth. However, concerns about vaccines and infections have led researchers to consider risk factors before and after birth.

* A small percentage of children who are born prematurely or with low birthweight are at greater risk for having ASDs.

ASDs continue to be an important public health concern. Like the many families living with ASDs, CDC wants to find out what causes the disorder. Understanding the risk factors that make a person more likely to develop an ASD will help us learn more about the causes. We are currently working on one of the largest U.S. studies to date, called Study to Explore Early Development (SEED). SEED is looking at many possible risk factors for ASDs, including genetic, environmental, pregnancy, and behavioral factors.

I laughed when I first read that bullet point I highlighted. Took a team of lawyers to craft that one, now didn't it!

Screen shot for posterity. Full size here.

2003 Danish Study on Mercury Fabricated? New Study Completely Different Results.
New Danish/CDC Data Undercuts Claims that Autism Rates Increased in Denmark after Mercury was removed from Vaccines: Who is Telling the Truth?

By John Gilmore

A widely publicized study released in 2003 claimed that mercury in vaccines played no role in causing autism because the rate of autism in Danish children increased after mercury was removed from Danish produced vaccines in 1992. A study released several weeks ago, however, shows the exact opposite, that the rate of autism in Danish children decreased after mercury was removed. And if the increasing rate of autism claimed in the earlier study showed that mercury had no role in causing autism, then logic would also require that the rate of autism going down, as shown in the current study, indicates that mercury in vaccines may very well have a great deal to do with causing autism. There is also a huge discrepancy between the total number of children with an autism diagnosis in Denmark during the study period between the two papers that baffles explanation.

Both papers were drafted in part by researchers at University of Aarhus in Denmark with support from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Both papers claim to have drawn their data from a national registry of health information that includes all children born in Denmark, and another registry that records all psychiatric disorders among Danish children. Both studies looked at the time period from 1995 to 2000. Yet the two studies looking at supposedly the exact same data during the exact same time period have two completely different conclusions about the growth of autism in Denmark.

IACC's Matt Carey and the November Autism Hearing
By Anne Dachel

Many of us in the autism community are looking forward to another congressional hearing in November. This one will be on vaccine safety and the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program. The topic certainly does relate to autism since the vaccine-autism link is the most heated controversy in pediatric medicine.

We remember last November's hearing. That was where Representative Bill Posey asked CDC representative, Coleen Boyle, why they had never conducted a simple study comparing the health outcomes in vaccinated and never vaccinated kids.

On this short youtube, we can hear Boyle's response.

Dr. Boyle may not have found time to do a vaccinated/unvaccinated study, but she sent an email to Frank DeStefano at the CDC in 2000 (2 months before Simpsonwood) where she made the clever proposal that if officials wanted to dilute the alarming correlation between the increase in mercury-containing vaccines and the dramatic rise in autism, all they had to do was add one and two year olds---children too young to have an autism diagnosis---and "presto"---no link.

The cover-up isn't just about the link between vaccines and autism. It's about autism itself. To people like Boyle, autism is never a crisis. It isn't even on their radar. Canary Party chair Mark Blaxill also testified about the generation of children with a disorder most people never heard about 25 years ago. "Autism is a public health crisis of historic proportions. worse than poliomyelitis."

And autism isn't the only thing that's crippling our children. Blaxill asked the simple question, "Why are so many American children sick?"

More.
