I want more progressives and labor people.
I wish they would go somewhere else or kick the crazies out of their own party.

It has been going on since the 90's when Gingrich and others began to enforce strict, ideological purity. Of course, most of those Southern Republicans were once Southern Democrats who left the party starting with Strom Thurmond in 1948 when Truman submitted a Civil Rights Plan to Congress, leaving the Democratic party to run on a Segregationist ticket. It picked up with Nixon's Southern Strategy and began to sprint with the Reagan Democrats. Demographic shifts in the South indicate that it is reversing once again, probably due to changes of attitudes.

This is an historical process and we can't make it go ay or kick people out of our tent. That is the way a two party system works.

that Republicans are jumping ship already. We're still like a year out, but I have some city elections coming up in a few weeks. Maybe the judges have to change up their game fast.
