Related: About this forumThom Hartmann: FIRED! For taking on Goldman Sachs
Richard Eskow, Campaign For America's Future, joins Thom Hartmann. The New York Federal Reserve Bank is now in the middle of a lawsuit filed by a former employee - Carmen Segarra - who claims that the New York Fed fired her after she refused to falsify documents that - if left untouched - would have exposed illegal Goldman Sachs practices. Some of the New York Fed's most powerful executives are former Goldman employees and to many people - Segarra's case looks like yet another example of regulators looking out for banksters instead of the American people.

(19,926 posts)So I think they choose to air it, presumably they buy it/pay him to air it.
Plus, there's no way you're going to hear Thom Hartmann spouting Russian propaganda. No way in hell.

(13,877 posts)and articles about American politics the MSM will not touch. That's what our MSM calls any Liberal voice...propaganda.
Al Gore's Current TV, a Progressive Hope and Dream, folded. I have yet to see Al Jazeera US, purchaser, break into anything relevant???

Yes RT does cover relevant issues our media doesn't touch, does it ever cover anything relevant about Russian political abuses and assassinations, NO.
The problem is they reel you in then start feeding you bullshit. RT has lied, and will lie in the future.
It's a sad day when we have to count on a KGB government to give us news we DESERVE TO HEAR. It means the system in America FUBAR.
What happens if a treaty is reached between the two countries? Do you think RT won't just disappear or start spreading different propaganda. My point is they aren't independent and that is a very bad thing.
There are however independent unbiased sources like FSTV or Democracynow. I'd rather patronize them, since I know they won't change on a dime when their interests change.

(13,877 posts)MSM wilderness as a tweaking of our own self-righteous Freedom of the Press pontification. Don't know of any other programs on RT as I only watch occasional clips of Hartmann, but they are always spot on and nothing like it in the US media.
But as to the FUBAR state of events and this coming via the KGB, it is pretty sad. Probably so inconsequential in the global sense of politics that no one cares. Kind of typical of the entire Liberal wing over here. Ugh.
What is FSTV? Not heard about them.

(14,656 posts)propaganda via U.S. pundents than Russia's. Thom Hartmann is the best and thank goodness RT carries his program.
I've also enjoyed the Fukushima coverage by RT.
I haven't heard about Russian assassinations lately. Have they started
using drones too?

(225 posts)If you trust them enough to give you a straight answer.
Poland's Rzeczpospolita newspaper said prosecutors and explosive experts who examined the remains of the plane in Russia found signs of TNT and nitroglycerin on the wings and in the cabin, including on 30 seats.
Traces of explosives were also found in the area where the Tu-154 crashed during its approach to a small airport near the Russian city of Smolensk on April 10, 2010, the daily reported.

Artur Gorski said the Russians 'came up with some dubious reasons' that the aircraft couldn't land because they feared President Leck Kaczynski's presence would overshadow a similar event hosted by the Russian prime minister a few days before.
And their alleged plan ended in disaster when the Polish pilots made one final and disastrous attempt to land, killing Mr Kaczynski, his wife, and 94 others on board the plane.

(225 posts)Personally I think he has the following to start his own network, but being the corporate controlled environment that it is, I think it's more likely he would end up in a car accident than ever be allowed his own network.

Maybe send them all to GitMo to be waterboarded with dirty toilet water until they 'fess up.

(13,877 posts)The only real media that comes close to being Fox News' counterpoint, is Thom Hartmann...one lone voice with no fancy sets and sexy, short-skirted women...from Russia Times. I'm not inferring that Russia doesn't have an interest, but it unfortunately fills a void over here.
I'll criticize this relationship as soon as the US can find a market and a spokesperson for Liberals. MSNBC is the closest, but I get so sick of them playing clips of softball question...on and on and on and on...ad nauseum, of R and TP propoganda, then sometimes give a little rebuttal and move on. I can barely stand to watch even them these days. And the other "news" channels are far worse.
Thom is the only current true politically liberal newscaster. And no, I don't plan to go live in Russia. Did watch a show last night about some anti-gay-marriage founder going over there to join their anti-gay stuff, and it got cancelled. The world community is getting smaller.
