A video re-surfaced on social media last week of Ted Cruz' father, Rafael, explaining how the Bible gives Christians to rule every aspect of society. The video shows just how dangerous the delusions of grandeur can be. Rafael Cruz sounds like he wants a Christian theocracy in America, something our founders warned us about.

(492 posts)This eloquent, intelligent dude scares me. A lot. He apparently views as a given that little Teddy is the second coming of King David. He's not so much drawing comparisons as saying that God (what or whoever that is) told him that his son is King David, Jr. and that the wealth of the wicked -- i.e., all of us -- is being stored for Teddy's use, when he assumes the mantel of kingship.
If the dude were mumbling in an alleyway, amid heaps of offal and refuse, I'd just shake my head sadly, give him a couple of bucks for coffee, and be on my way. But he's talking to a crowd of convinced, deluded, believers who are absolutely willing to put their own money up for the cause -- because, after all, if they do so, they will be given a share of the wealth of the wicked when the constitutional government is smashed and Teddy introduces the new theocracy.
I suppose I could make it much shorter, but I like to err on the side of depth. We have too many three-minute nuggets of "not much" out there in the media verse already.

If this was not such serious shit, harming people as it goes, and with the intent to harm more - it would make a great cage match.
