I remember as a kid visiting my Grandfather in downtown Detroit and we would go to the roof of his hotel & watch the fire works on the Detroit river for the 4th of July. What fond memories.

And to be honest, he does not embody Oz sensibilities at all!
But full disclosure, I LOVE Australia. If it weren't so far away, so expensive--and if everything there didn't have the potential to freakin KILL YOU--I would consider moving.
Ahhhhh, but it's on my bucket list to be there on NYE. Maybe next year.
