Putin Russian Technology Fail - Olympic Ring Doesn't Open in Ceremony

Last edited Mon Feb 24, 2014, 02:15 AM - Edit history (4)

Call it poetic justice. Call it a signal that Putin can't get it up. Or just call it a big phail-us.

One of the 5 Olympic rings in Sochi failed to materialize in a mechanical oops that will no doubt echo across the globe's internet as another signal that the Russian Government organization assembled by Putin for the Olympics is proving itself to be not ready for prime time in the world-stage category.

Ah, symbolism. One big dysfunctional flake. That's Putin, right there in the open.

As the powers-that-filter continue to pull the clips on YouTube of the Putin embarrassment, it might be easier to post this animated gif... to make it clear what Putin technologies brought to the ceremonies.

The Sochi opening ceremony has experienced its first technical hiccup, with one of five giant snowflake-shaped structures failing to transform into an Olympic ring. The audience was instead treated to four rings and a big flake.

The apparent failure meant the ring could not be illuminated by fireworks. When only four opened... that particular feature, near the very start of the 2-1/2-hour opening ceremony, was abandoned.
