Excerpt from Mr. Hendrix at about the 15 minute mark of the clip:

Did I even see him say that he wanted to shoot someone? Not Directly, but there have been several times when he made comments like, "I can't wait for somebody to try something with me when I have my gun."

Mr. Hendrix went on surmise that, just before the shooting, Dunn got out of his vehicle and expected his physical presence to intimidate the occupants of the other vehicle. When that did not work, he got his weapon, lost control (possibly due in part to being under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance) and fired the shots. Mr. Hendrix speculates that, if the police had not put out a bulletin which described Dunn's vehicle, Dunn would not have turned himself in.

unless testimony came in from the defense side that he was a Prince of a guy. Then it could be allowed as rebuttal testimony. It would be useable during the sentencing phase, though, when character (or lack of) becomes an issue.

A lot of times evidence of "prior bad acts" isn't allowed during a trial because it would prejudice the jurors. They are supposed to assume that the defendant is innocent and focus only on the incident at hand.

When do we have the right to take someone's gun away from them? Why did the police not know about Dunn's violent tendencies? Why did the neighbor not do something? To protect the women? Was he afraid if he talked to the police that the women would be endangered?

He knew the guy had threatened his wives with a gun, yet he put the gun back and never said a word to anyone about it?

I think citizens need to start doing the right thing before these nuts go off and kill someone.

I didn't watch the whole thing. It was too depressing. So then, why do the police just brush this stuff off all the time? How do we change this dynamic?

In the 9-second interval of the movie, Mr. Hendrix stated the following:

I notified the Port St. Lucie Police Department that somebody had solicited me to do a hit on somebody from Vero Beach, and they seemed completely disinterested.

The comments which Mr. Hendrix made leading up to said 9-second interval are unusual. Mr. Hendrix stated that the reason why Dunn solicited him to carry out the intended "hit" was that word had gotten around that Mr. Hendrix had previously beat up multiple persons in a bar altercation.

Fwiw, I used to live in north Florida, and an acquaintance, who worked for a Florida state regulatory agency, used to make site-visits at the Florida State Prison---known as Raeford, locally. She said just entering the prison grounds was intimidating enough. While I don't exalt prison-culture, I do believe Dunn will be highly out-intimidated by inmates there (Raeford is likely where his stupid, murdering ass will end up).
