If nobody's noticed before, I'm not a capitalist. Far from it. I realize that peaceful change is far preferable to violent upheaval (too destructive although sometimes unavoidable); but change we must have if civilization is to survive. My heart goes out, btw, to certain worthy people whose dedicated work in place, nudging this country forward, leaves them exposed to unwarranted charges of corporatism, etc. They're doing the groundwork against all odds, and it's every bit as important as Wolff's luxury of speaking out fully. There are simply different slots to fill. Wolff has his, they have theirs. Should one of those individuals not privately agree with me entirely, I can still honor and respect them totally so long as they're trying to move us in the necessary direction. No names need be specified at the moment, in this thread, as it would only offer a hook for trolls to deflect from the main focus, Richard Wolff himself. Let it be known, however, that I consider the man a national treasure.

I wish the basics of what Wolff has to say would be listened to by the people who need to hear it most. Unfortunately, it isn't easy to fix stupid. Bless him (and others) for continuing to try.

it's time. Also, some brief remarks about our prison population and what incarcerating so many people is doing to us as a society.

I could listen to Prof. Wolff all day.

and make the material easily accessible to the average listener. Joseph Campbell shone that way too.

...as interesting as the main part of the talk. He puts economic concepts in easy-to-understand terms so we can learn EXACTLY where we are and how and why. It's important stuff!
