California's Drought, Man Made? or Natural? or Both?

both a political and scientific controversy - how much of the current california drought is due to climate change, and how much is simply expected variability that is well documented in the paleo-record?
Even in a best case scenario, much of the west was built during relatively water-rich times, which
are not likely to be stable in the future.
several interviews with "not the usual suspect" scientists.

Difficult to say how much from each. But certainly a portion of it is us.

If this moves north into Washington, we are mega-fucked. We're not the national breadbasket that California is, but we get 73% of our power from Hydro. Big enough drought, like this 30 month thing in California, and my JOB will end to conserve electricity, I won't be able to cool my home, etc.

Best I could hope for is to relocate to another corporate site elsewhere in the country, or spend a few months in another country. That potential is there. People used to laugh about climate refugees, but it's a real potential.

...in a few years, it's going to become a new reality.

And about the drought itself - another cause which I don't see mentioned too much is - OVERPOPULATION. Overuse of resources by too many people.
