(67,109 posts)going to bestow great wealth on them. There's no sense even talking to them, they are void of rationale thought.
They ought to reduce her salary to minimum wage and tell her there's no chance of getting an increase. See how long she can deal with a non-living wage. If they vote this fool in again, they get what they deserve.

(15,041 posts)I don't get it. I know that Republican voters are slow on the uptake when it comes to their own interests, but this is so blatent that even Forrest Gump would get it.
Why would they vote for her?? I mean, ... why??

(10,952 posts)too stupid to realize that 1) they are not members of the 1%ers and 2) that they are continually voting against their own best interests. As long as the idiots in State Government keep talking about bible belt/conservative values they can get anything and everything by the voters. There is no uncontitutional issue they will not try to pass into law (and then try to defend in the inevitable court case). Rational thought is just not part of the psyche of most Okies.

(152 posts)But unfortunately, there just aren't enough of us to make a difference.
Most people seem to just not be able to think for themselves. They would rather some preacher do it for them.
Stupid bastards!
So yeah, no doubt we'll have her for another term.

(10,952 posts)What totally blows my mind is watching people who are state employees rant about the government, taxes, and so on without a clue that they are truly working politically against their own best interests and ability to support their families. Do they have no clue what happens to their agencies if 1) they work for an agency with no outside funding and are reliant upon state funding and 2) Governor Fallin cuts their budget? They will either experience lay offs or sharp hiring freezes and fewer employees will be left struggling with ever increasing work loads. The same people who cry out for less government have no problem with a state government that passes legislation that increasingly interferes with the lives of the citizens. As long as the idiots at the State Capital talk Conservative values and the Tea Party mantra it is totally insane what they can get away with. Under Fallin, Oklahoma has created a super agency, Oklahoma Management Enterprise System, claiming that they are saving money. It is all smoke and mirrors.

(23,102 posts)They listen to Faux Snooze which programs them to vote against their own interests for fear that they would be supporting that "black guy" in the white house otherwise. They are too stupid to realize that they are hurting themselves and voting against their own economic interests.

(45,251 posts)I doubt Lincoln actually believed the US ever had government of the people by the people for the people. But, it was one of the greatest speech of all time (that we know of), even if people who attended--or were on their way to attend were outraged that it was so brief. (Didn't know how lucky they were because they'd never heard a national convention keynote speech.)

(41,831 posts)people vote in Right wing extremists. Seeing this should encourage everyone to Vote for someone who at least is a fully functional, feeling and intelligent human being.

(3,596 posts)the only reason the state legislature did this was because they had the backing of monied interests who want to keep people poor at the same time shrinking or eliminating programs designed to help the poor and giving more goodies to the wealthy.
She and those that voted for this should be put on a sinking Titanic and placed in the middle of the ocean with no communication, life boats or way to call for help. Maybe then they might appreciate that a little help us is sometimes needed. But on second thought they are so stupid they would not understand this either.

(10,271 posts)that minimum wage hikes can carry ENTIRE tickets into the Dem column. But there's another problem here...
The Federal Minimum Wage exists exactly so idiots like this can't do what she just did. Effectively, she just turned the Fed Minimum Wage into the State's MAXIMUM wage, exactly the OPPOSITE of what the FedMinWage Law is supposed to do. If nothing gets done about this electorally, I see her getting the living hell sued out of her.

Here are some Qs & As generally about the Fair Labor Standards Act: http://www.dol.gov/elaws/faq/esa/flsa/toc.htm
I sincerely hope that she and the whole lot of OK GOP bums and moochers get what's coming to them.

(15,369 posts)If Democrats everywhere cannot score points with events like this where the ads just write themselves, then I really do not know what more can be done to win over an electorate that is so willing to let others (pastors or whatever) do their thinking for them.
Anyone who promotes the "both parties are the same" meme is totally and absolutely nuts.
