Bundy is a kind of throw-back, sort of a wanna-be Liberty Valance who wanted the Old West rule by shoot-'em-up instead of the rule of law that came with statehood, civilization and the taming of the West.

Apparently Bundy is conservative and wanting to restore Nevada to before it was a state in the Union.
