(482 posts)how many cows does this guy run on these lands? I heard the fee is about 1.50 a cow. If 1.2 million is what he owes he apparently should have paid 60000 a year in grazing fees and this would mean he has 40 thousand cows being grazed per year. This seems to be a pretty large operation. Does anyone know how accurate this 1.2 million figure is? Are there penalties included in this amount?

(1,203 posts)per month, per cow. He was allowed 164 head of cattle on the land, he ran as many as 1000. Currently, he has about 900. He has refused to pay for over 20 years, but most of what he owes in for fines.

(2,065 posts)Yes, this is definitely THE best video I have seen on the Bundy Ranch story yet. Cenk takes everything apart piece by piece, and even makes clear a lot of the false or misleading allegations made in the "Storm Clouds Gathering" video. In my comment on that previous Storm Clouds Gathering video, I knew something was fishy, and didn't add up because if all the allegations that guy made about Harry Reid and his business deal in solar energy with that Chinese company were actually true, Harry Reid would be the subject of a huge feeding frenzy by Republican Senator / sharks in the Senate, who, believe me, would eagerly exploit any real fault or vulnerability in any Democratic senator to the max, and be out for blood - and even more for Harry Reid, the Democratic majority leader. After Cenk did his fact check with the original source documents and debunked the Storm Clouds video's allegations against Harry Reid point for point, I was amazed at how far the guy who made that video was willing to stretch things to fabricate any seeming scandal for Harry Reid and his family, no matter how far fetched and tenuous. The Storm Clouds allegations weren't good enough for conservative Republican senators, but they sure were good enough for Fox (so-called) News!
And another thing I like about Cenk's reporting of the story is its unbiased, objective nature. Other reports on this story that have been on this site have really indulged in things like calling Clive Bundy a deadbeat, a moocher, and all that. Even though it seems that that's what Clive Bundy actually is, still, Cenk showed a lot of admirable restraint in not indulging in any needless name calling, but just letting the facts speak for themselves. Neither did Cenk just dismiss the Storm Clouds Gathering video out of hand by tying its narrator / producer in with right wing wing nut conspiracy theorists like Alex Jones, although he easily could have. He let everyone have their fair day in court, so to speak. And when it came to the opportunistic vultures at Fox News, like Sean Hannity egging Clive Bundy on like the rabble rouser and chicken hawk that he is, Cenk wouldn't even go there - nor did he need to.
