Papantonio: Obama's FCC Payoff To Corporations Who SPY ON YOU

Tom Wheeler, chairman of the FCC, knows how the game is played in Washington, D.C. He understands that there is a quid pro quo system in place that rewards those who act like loyal lapdogs for the administration (not just this administration, but whoever happens to be in power at the time.) And after years of being servants to the federal government, telecom giants are about to get the big payday they’ve been waiting for.

AT&T, Verizon, and a host of other companies have been feeding your personal data to the NSA for years. Your calls, your emails, your text messages – your service provider has handed that information over to the federal government with a wink and a nod, knowing that their loyalty would be rewarded, but they never could have imagined how big their reward would be.

He promised that he would fight for net-neutrality. But then again, Obama has reneged on a majority of his election promises.

woefully MIA, as usual. I've learned not to believe a word he says. He sure doesn't.

Hell, they don't have to do anything. They've got us sniping, fighting and ridiculing each other so bad, and we're so divided as a society that we present no threat to them whatsoever. All they have to do is sprinkle a few crumbs on the ground, and we'll wallow, claw and fight each other like pigs for them. Think, Black Friday.

- We do all the heavy lifting for them. They just have to hit the wheel ever once and a while to keep it spinning smoothly in the direction they want.

"No Deal" (I think it is), hosted by Howie Mandel? In order for the contestants to win $5000 they have to do increasingly embarrassing things in public, usually to a loved one or spouse. They have to make asses of themselves.
It would probably be edited out but I'd love to see an average (poor, that is the average American) person say "embarass myself and my loved for money? NO thanks!
They have us over a barrel. We (the majority of us) cannot turn down the opportunity to get $5000, even though it means humiliation for us and/ or a loved one.
Of course Howie and his "guest instigator" are paid 100's of thousands of $$ for a few minutes of fun (to entertain the masses) while never losing their dignity.
I find that to be a decent microcosm of life for the non-elite. We do anything to pay the bills or maybe even get a small vacation.
Damn, Look at the numbers yet we still allow them to control us.
Will it ever end and equality reign?

...but I get the gist of it. It reminds me of many a dystopian sci-fi novel I've read of a future where debasement and using people's will to survive as a form of entertainment. Like The Running Man.

- According to the trailer, that show starts in three years......

They turn everything into a profit scheme for themselves while providing less and less.

We need to get rid of the uber rich in order to come to grips with the problems in our world. As long as the uber rich are allowed to do what they are doing, society will continue to crumble, our democracy will continue to vanish, our planet will continue to become a dump for corporations. The top 1% are dangerous to democracy. The concentration of wealth is a hazard to We the People and our planet. It should be outlawed and taxed to death. Nothing and no one should be allowed to accumulate vast fortunes.

Look at what the rich do with their wealth. This has to stop.
