'Dangerous, alienating, sociopathic': Former police captain on arming US cops with military gear

RT * Published on Jun 16, 2014

Dangerous, alienating, and sociopathic: the policy of arming police to
the teeth with military-grade gear shows a fundamental misunderstanding
of how crime is solved and what it means for a cop to walk the beat,
former Captain Ray Lewis told RT -

NEENAH, Wis. — Inside the municipal garage of this small lakefront city, parked next to the hefty orange snowplow, sits an even larger truck, this one painted in desert khaki. Weighing 30 tons and built to withstand land mines, the armored combat vehicle is one of hundreds showing up across the country, in police departments big and small.

The 9-foot-tall armored truck was intended for an overseas battlefield. But as President Obama ushers in the end of what he called America’s “long season of war,” the former tools of combat — M-16 rifles, grenade launchers, silencers and more — are ending up in local police departments, often with little public notice.

During the Obama administration, according to Pentagon data, police departments have received tens of thousands of machine guns; nearly 200,000 ammunition magazines; thousands of pieces of camouflage and night-vision equipment; and hundreds of silencers, armored cars and aircraft.

The equipment has been added to the armories of police departments that already look and act like military units. Police SWAT teams are now deployed tens of thousands of times each year, increasingly for routine jobs. Masked, heavily armed police officers in Louisiana raided a nightclub in 2006 as part of a liquor inspection. In Florida in 2010, officers in SWAT gear and with guns drawn carried out raids on barbershops that mostly led only to charges of “barbering without a license.”

Can you imagine the massacre that would take place if officers had high caliber weapons? I spent a year in New York City supporting the Occupy [Wall Street] message. I was arrested down there for civil disobedience and never did I see any type of behavior from those protesters that would ever need any type of weapon, let alone high caliber. If anything, it was the protesters that would have needed high caliber weapons.

And Americans have little margin for error in this regard. The Elites see problems coming because only they KNOW exactly what they hell they've done. And just as they do abroad in any and all the ''brown-countries,'' they want to kill it with guns before it ''gets them.''

They can do this because we willingly fight their battles. They blow-up some balloons and string some red, white and blue banners and we're off the war! Hoo-Rah!! They have us so effectively disorganized and fighting against one another that they're safe from any threat from us because of their disastrous financial decisions and cons.

- Rinse cycle and repeat. Rinse cycle and repeat. Rinse cycle and repeat. Rinse cycle and repeat. Rinse cycle and repeat. Rinse cycle and repeat. Rinse cycle and repeat. Rinse cycle and repeat.

The simplest cons are always the best.

I thought it funny that Catherine "awsome" Fitts was followed by David Icke.

...all perspectives must be respected. It won't work any other way. It's called Unconditional Love (or as David Icke calls it Infinite Love). It's the respecting of each being's right of existence -- their right to be themselves without interference or objection by anyone.

I can't think of any other way in which peace could be achieved and maintained.

- As for the labels who gives a crap? I know I sure as hell don't. Only the sheeple baaaaaa anyways......

- They think if they ''can'' themselves deep enough in the ground and stock all the essentials for existence like caviar, Avian bottled water, some good hard cheeses along with the brie, and a nice Merlot from 2006 -- that nobody will have a big enough opener to get at 'em......

Always nice to see Capt. Lewis. This guy would make an awesome big city police commissioner, (well in Europe maybe).
