Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO): The Washington Redskins

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver • Published on Jun 15, 2014

How is that team still called The Washington Redskins? Oh, it's because their owner Dan Snyder doesn't want to change his way of life.

Have you ever wondered about names? I do. All the time. Most sir names are derivatives of the work or profession of the male head of the family from back in olden times, like the ''Bakers'' were the people who baked the villager's bread. And the ''Plummers'' were the family that knew all about piping and draining water. And the ''Bushs'' were the people who hid in the shrubbery to bonk unsuspecting people walking by over the head to steal their shit.

Now take the name ''Snyder'' for instance. What would you guess the meaning of a Snyder was? Take a guess then click here for the answer.

- There you go. There's your answer as to why this team's name is still ''Redskins.'' Because rules, decorum, nor having a concern for the welfare of others applies to snyders......

I'm an old timer. In old DU2, the video posting rule was to use the exact title as listed at the source to avoid dups. They stopped that when they setup DU3 and dups happen all the time now. When I searched DU using the exact title for this vid, I got nothing.

- And yet, the more the merrier I always say!
