Got busted for taking bribes to swing government contracts. Eight years in the slammer, and he actually went.

5. I think you have to go back the the Reagan era to find major Republicans convicted.

I remember them saying that his administration, by convictions, was the worst ever. That's when the U.S. Chamber of Commerce started stacking the elected courts while Democrats were not paying attention to judicial races. Now the Chamber has 4 or 5 bogus courthouse newspapers slanting every story while attempting to hide their ownership. For the 1st year, www.southeasttexasrecord.com and the paper version ran zero ads until they realized that people didn't take it seriously. They ran stories about bogus asbestos cases in the issue potential jurors would be looking at for something to read while they waited. They ran down Democratic judges before elections. It is much tamer now except for their propaganda editorials, so it is still influencing jurors and voters.
They learned that Judges can make a big difference and require much less campaign money to keep in office while Democrats approve Republican appointments, and Republicans block any and all Democratic appointments. On top of that, Obama appoints Corporatist judges who are much more conservative than advertised, mainly coming from insurance defense firms.
The Plutocrats control much of the Judiciary and that is why we see the few Republican power brokers that actually get indicted, walk.

The prison folks don't want criminals controlling other inmates.

I worked in 2 Federal Prisons and even in protective custody, he would be a problem. I had a friend who had to check with Patty Hearst's lawyer every day to she if she wanted to do the work assigned to her.
