(50,983 posts)We all know why we aren't allowed to hear an alternative point of view on regular TV.
Without a free and fair media we do not have a democracy. We do not.

(53,661 posts)It's a job requirement when one is selling the MIC viewpoints of their bosses and the human mind has infinie ability to obfuscate the truth with ideology, religion and emotional pretense. Psychological methods are employed heavily by MSM, imagery, tone and sound, with text beneath the speakers. It's a pretty complete package.
The bottom line is what they and their bosses are looking to protect. The owners will, as they've done in the past, smear, fire and destroy the careers of those who cross their MIC bottom line. That's why the networks are full of the babble of chickenhawks, recycled for years as good salesmen.
The talking heads are acutely aware of their vulnerability in terms of their job and the social position obtained by their high salaries, sometimes millions of dollars per month. That'll buy a lot of chatter.
I suspect that dynamic creates half the tension we see reflected by these guys who are household names, who would never make the money elsewhere if they lost their jobs. I suggest that most of them are either nominally or not at all qualified as journalists, period.
Or, as we see from their famiiy ties, that no matter how badly they flub things, they are never let go for the occasional blunder. Telling truth or the facts is not what they hired on to do, they were hired to get people caught in the web.
These people have the faces and mannerisms the public is intrigued by which still pushes the view of the owners, they're just window dressing. Cenk knows this, having been dismissed by them himself and called a hot head for saying the glaringly obvious and not following the routine.
As were Donahue, Schultz and Olbermann. They let them go as far as they needed to pull in viewers to the conservative and libertarian cesspool the owners want projected. There is no mistake here, in fact the 'hot mike' moment may have orchestrated to make the dissenters think they have a friend in media. We don't.
JMHO. YMMV.

Watch tv, you'll see the promo's! And somehow or other, we will ...
face it, you were conquered when yall didn't notice the Red Army was already on German soil when D Day happened way back in days of your ...and large sums of our money kept adolph & nazi's going when the German people soundly rejected them in the years leading up to adolph's election in 1932! (and yes....how can a debate on USS Forrestal's John Mcain get tossed back to dubia dubia 2? Well forgive me... ! when i found out William shirer ie of 'risenfallof3rd reich' fame {published in 1961, the year Berlin Wall put up} was a political secret agent man; the totality of the fraud just became annoying)
