It is the only way...because the system is rigged.
And if we keep flailing around "issues" they will keep wining and wining...and taking our money to do it with.
I get at least a half dozen emails every day from our politicians with the same message...bad cop is going to hit you in the face again if you don't send us some money so we can fight him or her.
It is not working folks.

lost our Democracy on a national level. The good news is, this is an issue, probably the only issue, where Democrats, Republicans, Progressives, Libertarians, and even Tea Party types agree, our politicians do what their bosses (the ones who pay them to keep them in office) tell them to do, not what we, their constituents, want them to do.

We can do this because it is universally agreed. The Right hates George Soros, unions and trial lawyers funding Democrats and the Left hates the Kochs, corporations and all of the other self important millionaires and billionaires they have bribing the RW politicians and Judges.

I believe that "Publicly Funded Elections" in all Federal, State and local elections should be made a part of the Article V Constitutional Amendment to close and lock the door on the money sneaking in again. It is not enough to overturn Citizen's United and make money not equal speech, it needs to brook no exceptions!!!

Now THAT is conviction! Thank you Mother Earth for bringing this to us.

I don't think there is an issue more important than this one, especially while we celebrate July 4th.

Let freedom ring, and let us get money out of our politics and our government, we the people must be heard.

posted, I know they are time consuming. All of it is doable and the fears of a runaway convention are just fear mongering over an issue that can be tackled. We've already seen VT & CA approve it, which hopefully is only the beginning of the amount needed to get this done.

Lessig's information is invaluable as a Harvard law professor. I hope you get a chance to view the video of him on that thread (there are two, one with Maddow and one from a meetup in Boston). It's rather encouraging & Cenk and Lessig are inspiring.
