Penn State University scientists have discovered two new coral reefs in the waters near the catastrophic Deepwater Horizon oil spill. These reefs bare the impact of the devastating oil spill, and show us just how hazardous the spill was for the coral communities.
Ring of Fire's Mike Papantonio appears on The Big Picture with Thom Hartmann to discuss this.

(10,495 posts)Settlement. The Gulf is getting worse and BP sunk the oil with Corexit to hide it from site and avoid paying fines on the amount spilled. That oil is leaching into the Gulf waters and spreading the toxins as far south as the Florida Keys. There is little reporting because the local TV, Radio, and newspapers receive so much ad money from BP they don't dare to report the truth about what is going on.
BP recently said that they had resolved all of the oil spill claims! That is news to the 10's of thousands of victims still waiting for their 1st offer! They have tied up the litigation with numerous appeals and now are trying to go after money they have already paid out to some victims since they were successful in changing the terms of the settlement. They have most claims frozen while they have "investigators" checking everything about each and every victim they chose. When they said that they, "... Would pay all legitimate claims" they didn't say when! This has been a big, corrupt joke on our legal system.
I should know better, but I still find it hard to believe that a foreign corporation can get away with so much in the U.S. and no one in Government or the judicial system has the power and the will to stop them! Check out www.theamericanzombie.com to learn more about the dirty dealings in this case.
