(27,137 posts)...I've found tend toward the sensational I think for the clickbait potential.
Clicks = popup ads = $ (Even though less than .01% of the ads are clicked, its their only model and they're sticking to it!)
I don't believe anyone is paying Google but the advertisers who want to know what we're talking about so they can try and sell us something. And of course the NSA (their digital father-figure), who gives them their allowance(s).
The dark or Undernet as some call it, I think refers to uncatalogued web access servers that are used to work around the usual methods used to track and identify who is who using the Uppernet.

(84,711 posts)Corrupted making some thing going back to pen & pencil and typewriters and Post Offices are a better solution.
We can't Turn Back Time...but, it seems that some "reshuffle" might be in order until we sort things out.
For You ....and it's not much to do with my post except the phrase "If I Could Turn Back Time...but, just love the tune...and Cher... 's BTW...changed the video. The first one was her singing to the troops after "9/11" when she was traumatized. It was cool..but a bit OTT.
