(45,274 posts)3. Wow. One more advance toward the privacy-less culture.
Our society, all human societies, have been premised on the idea of privacy in one way or another. The end of privacy will, first, result in major dysfunction. The NSA is only the beginning. However, it's a two-edged sword. Many offenses by authorities have come to light because of ubiquitous recording devices. I remember being entranced by how Occupy people created their own spy drones with cheap cameras on cheap toy RC helicopters.
Ultimately, if we all end up knowing each other's business, I think we will be forced to evolve into a world that is more tolerant of each other's frailties. The alternative is pretty unthinkable.
