(3,829 posts)Apparently Rabbi Meir Kahane has many fans, including Bob Dylan.
Here's a five star comment:
Rabbi Meir Kahane was a prophet for our time. The exponentially growing Israeli-Arab population is a "Cancer" within Israel. Within a short time, they will be the majority within the State of Israel and can "demogratically" vote out Israel and vote in still another ARab State! Thus, They MUST Go!
Here's a one star comment:
What is the difference between the filth, bigotry and racism espoused by Meir Kahane in the 1980's, and the xenophobic, black-propaganda vaunted by Adolf Hitler himself in the 1930's?
Apparently, not much...
* Both sought to maintain the "sanctity" of their homeland, as well as the purity of their cultural/ethnic background.
* Both sought the persecution and containment of legal citizens simply because they were NOT of the "right" ethnicity.
* Both seem to have offered a "final solution" to their respective "dilemmas" (However, Kahane's version is a much more 'politically-correct' genocide, wherein the euphemism "transfer" is utilized [Thank you, to the Propaganda Department]...)
* And last, but certainly not least, both - tragically - had enough seemingly joyous and supportive fellow citizens (of their own ethnicity of course) to have them elected to the parliament of their respective countries.
In fact I can sum this book up in two words (of which, many others will agree, I'm sure):
Heil Kahane!
Oh wait, in fact, that's what they called his biography, isn't it...
The co-incidences and similarities between Kahanes ideology, and that of Hitler's is a tragic, and absurd irony (especially in light of the recent 60th anniversary of the holocaust.)
After reading this Jewish Supremacist diatribe, the reader will quickly realise that the famous term, "Never Again!" - at least in Rabbi Meir Kahane's mind - actually means, "Never again (to the Jews)"...
Exclusivity is from the realm of tyrants & dictators; when will we learn?

(10,497 posts)of putting oneself into the other's shoes. I blame part of it on our isolation (physical) from the lives of others different from us so that we believe what we are told by others like ourselves, just who and what the "others" are!
I keep thinking about Mitt Romney going to what was obviously his first ever fast food joint. He remarked how "neat" the little styrofoam box was that his burger came in as if he had never seen one before, because he hadn't. How would this man ever understand, much less govern a country full of, people he had no connection with? No wonder he that that 47% of us were moochers just looking for "free stuff"!
Human nature it seems, causes us to naturally want to segregate ourselves into several smaller groups, by race, religion, nationality, class, political affiliation..., until we look down upon most others not like ourselves and believe they are somehow inferior because they are not like "us". It will be to our undoing, because at our core, we are all the same! We want basically the same things for ourselves and our families, we have the same emotions and feelings. Just because we are outwardly different changes nothing!

(6,699 posts)The simple question being asked has a simple answer; but that's not the picture. That's the picture Israel would LIKE you to see. Poor Mimi. She is probably not thinking this through, as she should. Fox-nonsense does this a thousand times daily.
Mike brings up a good point; but even that is not the whole picture. Imagine living in the Warsaw Ghetto, where you are not allowed free movement, you are not allowed to buy and sell goods from outside your little ghetto. Every few years, you get your neighborhood destroyed by overwhelming force, and you just have to hope you don't have a bomb drop on YOUR home, or your head. And add to that, there are NO jobs for your "providers" to bring home an even modest living. You see and hear of your family and neighbors who are rounded up and imprisoned, sometimes justly, and often unjustly, for crimes they may or may not have committed. And finally, add to this family and friends killed by the bombings and overwhelming force of those responsible for keeping you in this shit hole against your will. THEN, you have what the Palestinians might be feeling...at the very least.
I feel bad for the little Israeli children that have to come running off the playground and climb into bomb shelters so they are not blown to smithereens, through no fault of their own. I feel frustrated, angry and appalled at little Palestinian children who are blown to bits by a government regime that is hell bent on PUNISHING and subjugating a race of people to this existence in hell on earth.
How fast the Jews have forgotten how it felt to be treated such.
