(15,728 posts)And as always with a CPS agency, it is convoluted.

(53,661 posts)Unfortunately, that cannot always be when those who operate sex rings such as abused Buddy are still free.
We have a great deal to overcome in this nation to stop those who still organize to abuse and treat rape as sport.
This doesn't come out of just state care, it is much, much bigger. I respect very much the family and boy who are telling their story here.
But this video about their family and should be as open as videos people post on happier subjects. I'm glad this video made it to a mirror account.
There are even more horrific examples of this but one cannot post the details here. Because it's wrong to betray the privacy of those who fight to protect victims.
But this is their family. The devastation from defunding proper care and without leadership for children is evident when you see CPS being turned over to private vendors.
IDK if that is what they did in Texas, but it's been done and there is no way to regulate what is being done effectively as you are fighting those with a profit motive who resist oversight.

Judge Keith Dean served as an elected judge for twenty years. While serving on the bench, he was honored to be elected by his fellow judges to be the presiding judge over all of the courts in their jurisdiction. He is frequently asked to speak at seminars for lawyers on the topics of ethics and jury selection. He has also been an instructor at the Texas Center for the Judiciary's College for New Judges. He now serves as a Senior District Judge, mediator and arbitrator.
Utilize his experience in your next mediation or arbitration.
Judge Dean was a subject of a youtubevideo of his own:
He's a RW GOP.

(52,166 posts)if he stuck to only his case and the treatment of his parents then the video likely would have been able to remain but by talking about other kids who could easily be figured out he crossed a line.

(8,267 posts)become involved with abused/neglected children. Nationwide, our child protection agencies are under-staffed and under-funded. Too many of the employees of these agencies are overworked and many are burned out. Some of the foster families are good, most are not. Not surprising, then, that too many of our children face more abuse and distress after they enter the system.
I was a social worker for a number of years, right after the feds initiated a lawsuit against the state of Arkansas because a child in foster care died. Most of the individuals with whom I worked had power and control issues, and inflicted these issues on their client families. When I resigned, I had more than triple the caseload mandated by law.
I was hired more than a year ago as a social worker in the second county I'd worked before, only to have my supervisor wrongfully terminate me on Christmas eve. Afterward, I discovered that the rest of the workers in this county have a bad reputation (not surprising, actually), and no one trusts the agency. The supervisor who wrongfully terminated me lost the promotion he was promised, likely because of his inappropriate behavior, and he has since 'resigned.'
They still owe me my last travel reimbursement--over $500.
