From the video:
The Justice for Coran trend is to raise awareness of a mentally handicapped man getting beat up by a group of teenagers. A video spreading around YouTube show the man, Coran, being beat up by some teenagers. A user also shared another video on YouTube showing a group of teenagers beating up on a man that has been identified as Coran. Users on Twitter were sharing the video and images from the video to try to raise awareness about what happened.
Just watched the videos of that mentally challenged man getting beat up and I cannot stop crying, worst thing Ive seen, said one, using the hashtag #justiceforcoran.
Angeliz Marrero, a 16-year-old student at Howard High School of Technology in Wilmington, told NBC that she was one of the people to repost the video with the hashtag #TheBullyProject. She said Coran is a 27-year-old man who suffers from Williams Syndrome, a neurodevelopmental disorder. He loves music and is very kind and is completely harmless, Marrero said. He loves to be out of the house just being active walking around.
She said the attacks took place at the Harbor Club Apartment complex on Cheswold Boulevard in Newark, Delaware, and in a wooded area behind the YMCA of Newark, Delaware. Marrero also says the teens shown in the video are between the ages of 14 and 15 and attend Delaware area high schools and middle schools.
Police are investigating.
Update
New Castle County Police say theyve arrested a 13 and 14-year-old boy in connection to the abuse of a Newark mentally disabled man. A teen who was in the video says he helped file a report. He didnt want to reveal his identity for fear of retaliation.
The right thing to do was call the cops, he said. If you beat up a mentally disabled person, you should be locked away for good.

have made it a point throughout my early 20s to avoid working with my peers as much as possible, as many of them are still stuck in the HS mindset. and I'm not the only one.

I'm curious if Derrick Rose would comment about that kid and ask him to destroy the shirt and never wear it again because he thinks so little of him as a person after seeing him act like less than an animal

(7,234 posts)Its always a group of coward thugs beating on one person or some coward thug punching an old lady to get her purse or a gang of thug cops beating on some skinny homeless guy or some coward cop thug shooting some unarmed kid who had his hands up or some coward thug fuck pointing a gun at journalists and threatening to kill them
I have fucking had with the culture and the BULLSHIT excuses for this behavior that follow!
"Just one bad apple", "They're Heroes!", "I'm reserving judgement until all of the facts are known", "They're just misguided youths", "They don't have father figures to look up to"," We need more after school programs!", "We need more training" and on and on and on and on!
