He's a devout Christian who actually follows the teachings of Christ, namely treating others as you would want yourself treated.

He is demonstrating the essence of Jesus' teachings. The rest of Christianity is useless as far as I am concerned. -- the buildings, the hierarchy, the offerings, etc. All worthless without that essence: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

The key to a good life.

Texas, and the world, need them now more than ever. Texas has a fine tradition of such people, including Jim Hightower and Ann Richards. Their inspiring words, made in that matter-of-fact Texas twang, are an incredible antidote to right wing teabaggery. Wish we heard them more often.
