(115,677 posts)"Its possible a case might make its way to the United States, but a full-fledged outbreak is highly unlikely."
"There is no significant risk in the U.S. While it is unlikely that the disease would spread if imported into the United States, the recent infections in U.S. health care workers working abroad highlight the need for vigilance."
"We do not view Ebola as a significant public health threat to the United States.
It is possible that infected travelers may arrive in the United States, despite all efforts to prevent this; therefore we need to ensure the United States' public health and health care systems are prepared to rapidly manage cases to avoid further."

(6,719 posts)Please email or sent a post card to Mr. McCain (letters take a month to clear the D.C. security). Please say something along the lines of -- Senator, we do not have czars. We do have a Surgeon General -- or we could have if you in the Senate and your colleagues in the House would authorize the nomination. You are in the position of responsibility.
This is one of those days when we must take action. All of us. Please. Takes two minutes.
Thank you.

(57,936 posts)I am serious. This is not a joke. He does not seem to have accepted the loss of his presidential bid very well. He needs help. I feel sorry for his family. John McCain may be suffering from a mental illness or even dementia. His statements are very often way out of line. This has been going on for years.

(5,668 posts)ie hey the people , americans fighting ebola over in Africa risking their own lives, just do it for whatever reason not for america cause she kept thinking it'll never come here. ie one forgets if you don't do a great job fighting it elsewhere it'll come here. and the perfect storm and the lack of healthcare in TX created a perfect storm and now someone can throw Ann down to Texas where she loves to be

To which someone on twitter responded:
"@stevenleser you're gonna end up giving Rip Van Winkle a run for his money."
