"A new TV ad blames prominent Republicans for Ebola deaths, attacking them for championing spending cuts that have gone after emergency public health funding for containing disease outbreaks.
The one minute ad, called "Republican Cuts Kill," splices grueling images of body bags and workers in hazmat suits with footage of top Republicans like Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (KY) and House Speaker John Boehner (OH) calling for spending cuts. It also features 2014 Republican Senate candidates Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, Cory Gardner of Colorado, Tom Cotton of Arkansas and Pat Roberts of Kansas.
The spot was produced by the Agenda Project Action Fund, the same progressive group that has made controversial anti-Republican ads such as "Granny Off the Cliff." The group's spokeswoman, Erica Payne, said Monday the ad would air in Kentucky, North Carolina, South Dakota and Kansas all of which feature competitive Senate races that could swing the majority."

This ad hits them exactly where it should. These cuts to the budget kill people. It shows what the Republican party was/is/ and will always be, an organization that takes care of the rich and does nothing but lie to the rest of us. Like the cuts are for the "good of the country" they say and imply. That is one of their biggest lies. As this ad shows. The cuts to the budget can kill. I certainly hope this ad destroys the political careers of some of their biggest liars.

(111,261 posts)in the fact that the "welfare queens" the Koch boys want off the public dole are all of us.
That's right, kiddies, the only government they want is the one with a big military to protect their piles of money and nothing else.

(38,427 posts)As you said, "...protect their piles of money and nothing else." This one is accurate and effective. And should work.
I would like to repost this old ad...incredible effective also, take down of Meg Whitman parroting word for word of the previous governor....Arnold the Terminator.. This cut, cut, cut ad, above, is just as good, cause it has got the jerks giving the message in their own words...cut, cut, cut, that is all they care about...

(111,261 posts)to write stuff that's capable of being understood by Dumbfuckistan. Those folks don't get nuance and the Republicans have been very good at writing propaganda. Nuance is aimed at smart folks in cities and they aren't numerous enough to keep Koch puppets out of Congress.

(38,427 posts)I read some of them just now, and none of those comments deal with the substance of the ads, the cuts to the budget. This debate is ugly and it is about time the cutters got cut themselves. Let them scream. It has hit them good.

(25,183 posts)from using Ebola as a political football is keeping it in the minds of the mushy middle voters who will decide the weekend before the election who to vote for. This response to the Rethug comments just lifts them into the debate as full participants.
The question then becomes: "Who do you blame most, the people who let Ebola come here, or the people who didn't let scientists do enough to treat it when it got here?" Doesn't look good for us if it comes down to that.

(28,936 posts)but when they need the Gov. their screams of anger for the Gov. to do something ring completely hollow.
