Obama carrying over Bush's torture techniques?

America's War on Terror has caused intense scrutiny over how US officials gather intelligence from suspected terrorists. During the George W Bush administration, the president said the government would employ any techniques within the law to keep America safe. But were those torture techniques also war crimes? According to some skeptics the US was in the wrong, but the Obama administration dropped many cases involving CIA interrogators over the use of torture.
