For visibility of the creeping fascism and authoritarianism that's been taking place in "The Land of the Free".

3. If you want to see how willingly Americans are accepting fascism

just go to the comments section of an MSM web site when they have a story about authoritarianism or police abuse of power. The comments are sickening. I was reading one story the other day and went to the comments section -- I don't know why, because I've stopped reading them.

Almost every comment was in defense of fascism and abuse of power. I finally had to stop reading. It was getting to me.

4. Hartmann says this on RT/Putin TV? Really?

lol. Hartmann might want to look at who pays his bills--the Kremlin--to see a real authoritarian society.
They probably wrote this script for him, too.

5. TH has his own production company for years. He doesn't work for the Kremlin, just uses RT studio.

He's self employed. Larry King's show is also carried on RT.

about how much $$$ ends up in his pockets due to the RT association, in an ambush-style video I saw once.
Either way, it's clearly much more complicated than you say, that he just "uses" RT studio. That's not true, of course--he is carried on their cable channel. So what does RT pay him to be on their cable channel? Is the studio free to him? etc etc. Maybe you can ask Thom

10. Why would TH or Larry King need money from RT? You think they are paid agents for the Kremlin?

Are Larry King's scripts written by the Kremlin too? The media is fractured from deregulation and other changes in over 20 years. Many people follow independent news and international news like TV programming on BBC, France 24, Deutsche Welle, Aljazeera and RT, for variety and different points of view. That doesn't mean they agree with all the information presented. In Paris ten years ago we watched evening TV dramas on AJ, simply because they were offered at the place we were staying. Ray Suarez from PBS is now on AJ. It's a big world.
TH also has a program on FSTV (Free Speech TV Channel) carried on Dish, Direct, some cable cos. and Pacifica Radio. Before that he was with Air America. I'm sure he's unafraid to answer questions about The Big Picture program carried on RT and seen by many around the world. I'll try to ask sometime.
Millions of Americans are avid followers of Fox News of News Corp. whose second largest stockholder is a Saudi Arabian. Wonder if they know or are curious about that?

I'm saying it's very possible that TH gets paid something from RT--it makes more sense than not. In which case, he's getting a paycheck from the Kremlin and Putin's gay-bashing, totalitarian, free-press-destroying government. Are you saying you have no problem with that at all?

Second: If he's getting that Kremlin Kash, it's definitely a conflict of interest, especially considering some of his comments and shows re Ukraine: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2014/03/10/1283668/-Thom-Hartmann-Sticking-with-RT-despite-Resignations-over-Putin-s-Actions-in-Ukraine

Third: All this aside, is it not just suckingly perverse to go on the Kremlin's channel and complain about loss of freedom in the US?

12. No evidence that he's paid and why he and Larry King need money are main points for me.

For them and others it might be convenient to stay with a media outlet if and until matters conflict with their principles. For the record, I'd probably watch these two if they were carried by Fox, that's how mangled and bizarre the media world is now.
PBS with corporate support from the Kochs carry journalists like Moyers and Amy Goodman who fall into this category. Same with NPR shows that begin after thanks to the Walton Family Foundation. And clearly at MSNBC, sponsored by BP and Koch Industries whose highly paid hosts with presumed opposite viewpoints like Joe Scarborough and Rachel Maddow remain.
On this subject I may send back a Ralph Lauren product made in communist China and eastern Europe by slave labor. Especially since the maker recently faced criticism for American Olympic uniforms made in China. Perhaps my nephew should withdraw from college and I'll tear up my degrees from those institutions b/c they're invested in fracking and who knows what else. The issue of ethics and principles is vast..

13. RT Exceeds 2 Billion Views on Youtube - By Far the Biggest News Channel
Fri Dec 19, 2014, 01:44 AM
Dec 2014

RT’s five YouTube channels combined have hit the 2 billion views benchmark, strengthening the channel’s role as the leading news provider on the popular video hosting service.

RT content on Youtube has generated over 3 times as many views as CNN & Euronews respectively, and 2.5 times Al Jazeera's viewership.

Over 540 million views were generated by the network to date in 2014.

Thom Hartmann is a most principled person. It is very savvy of Thom to be associated with RT. He spreads progressive democratic thought through RT throughout the world.
