Where are all the brown gun nuts?

There are a lot of reasons that red states have so many more gun deaths per capita than blue states. Certainly gun policy is one of them and the fact that guns are more useful, and hence more common, in rural states and rural states tend to be red. But, in my view, the sheer incidence of gunnutism is a big factor too. People who calmly use guns like tools tend to store and use them safely. Gun nuts tend to play with them like toys, leave them all over the place, get all paranoid, fixate on fantasies about killing "bad guys" so much that everybody they don't know starts to seem like they just might be that "bad guy" who is finally going to give them a chance to go all Death Wish...

As if all we need to protect us against the gun nuts is more gun nuts.

They could save the world.
