(332 posts)As the President is the current leader of the "Democrat" party, I am proud of him.
PS: Tell Shep that "News" is something you have to earn. You lose the right to call yourself a "News" organization when your viewership is more misinformed after watching the network than before!

(54,436 posts)The Truth in Advertising Act should preclude the Fox Propaganda Channel from calling itself "News" when it is not.
Obama's White House is just following the law, even if Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes are not.
Besides, maybe Fox will now get the message from the "Democrat Party," along with greetings from the "no-go" city of Birmingham, England and those parts of Paris, France so designated by Fox "News," but not by reality.

(11,258 posts)...should have been allowed, but that they should not be allowed to call themselves a news organization.
Just like "whipped creme" is used when there is no real "cream." When there is no real "news" perhaps they can say "Fox Newz" or "Fox Nooz" - that way they can have their free speech and right to lie, but not have the false advertising that they provide actual "news."
Perhaps they can run "news specials" - e.g. - "Now, with 50% more real news!"

(54,436 posts)They do not provide news, the Obama White House acknowledges it.
The only problem is when they have a problem with that.

I know, it was beautiful. Shep beat me to the "message received" part, that is some funny stuff.

(67,782 posts)1. I thought you said you "didn't have the whine". Isn't that what we just saw in that video?
2. When did Scott Pelley move over to ABC News?
I think the people who printed the place cards decided to just be honest with everyone.

(81,440 posts)"Message 'received'?" Hardly!!! To be more accurate (which we already know they don't care that much about), he should have said "message sent" or "message delivered." Because it was a message. And it was sent or delivered or otherwise passed along. Message noticed, maybe. But "received"? HARDLY. With them it's more likely "message ignored."

(50,562 posts)1) The Fox staff had its own table.
2) That table was next to the door to the kitchen.
3) The rest of the room was served $200/bottle California petit sirah.
3a) This is the wine the Fox table was served...
(Yes, that's a real product)
4) There was an arsenic shaker on the table.
5) The other thirty tables in the room were served thyme-roasted Chilean Sea Bass, lasagna, green beans, butter beans and peas.
5a) The Fox table was served MREs.
5b) That had been shipped back from the War in Iraq.
5c) The FIRST War in Iraq.
6) The president refused to stop snorting through his nose when he spoke the words "Fox News."
7) We were expected to bus our own table.
7a) And the other thirty tables.
8) The White House presented journalists with a gift bag.
8a) They ran out before the goodie cart reached our table.
8b) When we went to complain, the maitre d' said, "no sir, there was no mistake...we were told there'd be 240 journalists, we got 240 gift bags...who the hell are you?"
9) When we returned to the parking lot, our car was missing. The part of the curb it was next to had a fresh coat of yellow paint.
9a) While we were waiting for a cab to take us to the DC impound lot, the president came out of the building to thank us for coming. There was still yellow paint on his hands.

Fox works over old people's minds and leaves them delusional and dangerous. It should be a crime. It certainly is a sin.

(8,601 posts)Or, perhaps you would prefer "passive-aggressive."
What pisses me off about it, is that it's easy to fire off a move like this, and make a few waves.
So then, where the actual fuck have all the "waves" been with regards to single-payer health care? Or how about some serious "waves" for a $3 trillion infrastructure bill, to put 20 million people to work fixing the country?
Where are the statements which need to be shouted from the rooftops, again and again and again AND AGAIN AND AGAIN, until something of real worth gets done in this country?

(23,147 posts)Stupid Faux Snooze went to the SCOTUS to win the ability to not deliver actual news but their skewed version of it. They admitted to knowing that the report they gave was false, but defended their right to lie and SCOTUS agreed. They are a political show only, any true news is just a side show.
