Specifically, I expect that there will be a lot of sickness and death caused by chemicals directly causing people's lungs and other organs to deteriorate, or by causing genetic or epigenetic changes that affect people for generations - if it doesn't kill them off. Cancer rates should be a lot higher.

That, in turn, will affect what the Chinese consider to be their economic edge: they have infinite people to throw at any problem. Cheap people. They're going to run out of them, which will affect their economic position greatly.

In other words, it's unsustainable.
