Published on Feb 27, 2015
America's Lawyer Mike Papantonio, Ring of Fire Radio, joins Thom Hartmann. The War on Terror has come home. Back in 2006 - we learned that the CIA was running secret overseas prisons - or black sites - where they indefinitely detained and tortured terrorism suspects. When news first broke about these black sites - most Americans were shocked to learn that the CIA was working with some of worlds most repressive governments to run what were essentially glorified dungeons. But until just a few days ago - very few of us knew that back home - right here in the United States - one of the biggest police departments in the country had a secret dungeon of its own.

(619 posts)Rahm seems to think that the constitution was printed on a roll of Charmin.

(45,984 posts)Let's get this straight right now: No, that "D" after his name does make a bit of difference. If we can condemn Senator Graham for supporting the NDAA on the Senate floor with the vile remarks "Shut up, you don't get a lawyer; you're an enemy combatant" then we can condemn Rahm Emanuel for this kind of malfeasance as Mayor of the City of Chicago; if we can condemn Dick Cheney as a war criminal for setting up an international network of black sites where torture is routine, why can't we condemn Rahm Emanuel for doing the same thing in Chicago?
I hope Mayor Emanuel is booted from office in April. I hope that someday he is held accountable for these crimes.

(4,879 posts)But again, right here on DU, I have seen that if you don't back Rahm, you are not really a Democrat.
After a lifetime of working for "democratic" causes (I'm well into my 60's) I suddenly do not know a thing about being a Democrat.
Go figure!
