If I were Iran and saw my window of opportunity for an agreement slipping away with the rise of a new wave of anti-Iran war mongering Republican insanity in America, I would certainly be motivated to achieve a solid agreement with Obama tout de suite. But boy, how far we have fallen in just forty years! Nixon sabotaged the Paris Peace Talks in secret; Reagan worked behind the scenes to sabotage Jimmy Carter's efforts to free the hostages. America will have fully conquered the demons of its racist past not when they merely elect a black President, but when they also give a black President the same level of honor and respect that they would give a white President.
