Pat Robertson: 'I Wish Reagan Would Rise From The Dead'

Televangelist Pat Robertson said on Monday that he admired Ronald Reagan so much he wished the former president would "rise from the dead."

"I wish Reagan would rise from the dead and come back," Robertson said, chuckling, on his CBN television show "The 700 Club" Monday morning.

Robertson went on to contrast Reagan with the current president, who "does not believe in America" and was mentored by "leftists who don’t really love this country.”

There is no guarantee that if he rose from the dead he would be elected president.

Hasn't he already served his two terms ?

Maybe you should add a few more things to your wish list.

No term limits for presidents perhaps ?

That sounds somewhat like a dictatorship.

Bush 2 was also in favor of a dictatorship, as long as he was the dictator.

That doesn't sound very American.

So the Republicans would prefer that a zombie represent the Republican party.

What a sad state of affairs.

I wish he and Thatcher had never been elected to any position of power.

as some of the many vocal and courageous politicians. Include motivational fighter figures for labor and social justice issues and Civil Rights like Mother Jones, Walter Reuther of the UAW and more. And countess movement workers, progressive journalists and environmental activists of the modern area. God knows we need action and leaders now.

We have very few like those right now, although I DO have a very good feeling about

a few, like Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders.

Maybe that's not in style anymore with corporate focused Pols in this age of corporate rule and globalization. Populist, barnburner occasions and speeches for the unempowered masses now not needed perhaps. Who knows-

SCOTUS (monarchs for life), the 24/7 GOP Hate Media Machine and possibly the WH in 2016. The large gap in Dem. leaders age 40-60 one DUer just reminded me is mainly due to the much smaller and less activist Gen. X generation, born c. 1962-1982.

The DUer said once the older Boomers are gone, the large cohort of millennials will start filling in the gap. I think some will be attracted to service in govt. despite its reduction and demonization over 30 years. That's in contrast to the expansion of the private sector, esp. the lauded, dazzling fields of finance, tech and entertainment.

But that many young people cannot make it in such few sectors in my view. Not unless there's a halt to the GOP destruction somehow, social and environmental stability emerge and there's a broad increase in income EQUALITY generated by jobs creation and growth from societal cleanup and rebuilding with new green energy industries and diversified technologies. It's possible..

Bernie is an Independent and not beholden to large corps and banks for campaign funds which gives him latitude to call out the rising uberwealthy oligarchy and inherent dangers. Warren is also fairly new and not confined by the DC Dem. establishment so she speaks out, raises H*ll. They're both great inspirations for the young and dispossessed who are amazingly strong and creative yet inheriting a real mess. It's heartbreaking and their future is my greatest concern.

Anyway here's to the steady if slow ascent of Populist activism and more 'young Bernies and Elizabeths' to preserve our democracy and way of life.

efforts are recognized and saluted, not to worry. At the post office 7 years ago when I was picking up my held mail after two months out of town, I heard a distinctive, deep voice behind me say, 'And I thought I had a lot of mail'. I turned around to see Sen. Leahy standing in line behind me in a dark suit with a slight smile and twinkle in his blue eyes. I was astounded and also embarrassed at being rather rushed and a bit grubby from the drive but apologized to the distinguished Senator from the beautiful state of Vermont. Then I proceeded to leave the PO with my friend and three large boxes of mail.

I think Reagan was already raised from the dead when he became president. Maybe he loved America, but he sure hated the constitution. No other president has dared do anything like attempt to set up a shadow government, with secret funding sources, and no accountability. Lincoln suspended habeus corpus. Roosevelt approved the Japanese-American internment. And so on. All of that put together doesn't come close to what Reagan did. If he were a Democrat, they would have impeached him and executed him for treason.
