I get it: it's not his first language.

No knock on his veracity or competence.

He speaks English better than I speak German.

In fact , he speaks English better than a certain former US prez does.

(Talk about an ordeal.)

For people who aren't used to public speaking, stagefright can do strange things. You can actually see him trembling and hear the tremor in his voice.

What an unwelcome memory: the Shrub's struggle to use his mother tongue!
