NYC Water Main Break Floods West Village, 14th Street Station

WEST VILLAGE — A water main break flooded West Village streets Wednesday evening and caused delays to 1, 2 and 3 trains, officials said.

The break started roughly at 6:51 p.m. near 175 West 13th St. near Seventh Avenue, FDNY officials said. The water flooded streets and the 14th Street 1 train station, officials said.

A spokesman for the FDNY said that there were no reports of people trapped in the station.

The Department of Environmental Protection said it found a break in a 12-inch water main pipe when it responded. The leak was stopped by roughly 8 p.m.
