Geraldo: Dashcam Video Should Clear S.C. Cop Of Murder Charge (VIDEO)

Fox News contributor Geraldo Rivera on Friday morning said that new dashcam footage that shows Walter Scott running away from his car at a traffic stop should clear South Carolina police officer Michael Thomas Slager of the murder charge.

"I'm extremely glad that they released the dash cam video because it gives context to the event. However horrific and tragic and outrageous the shooting in the back is, it shows that it started as a righteous traffic stop," Rivera said on "Fox and Friends."

Rivera said that Scott "was acting very hinky, very edgy" and that he allegedly struggled with Slager after the officer used his stun gun.

"So, up until that point the cop, with his adrenaline pumping, now he's been in a physical tussle, now the perpetrator has reached for the taser, allegedly. Now it gives you the context of his blood boiling," Rivera said. "He has done everything professional and now ... this civilian has dared to physically have this altercation with the officer."

fricking mind!?!?!?!

What a colossal pile of crap. So as long as a cop is pissed and can't control himself, it's okay to shoot you in the back? You are a disgrace Geraldo.

"Righteous traffic stop" ?!?!

Oh, and Geraldo, just FYI, cops are (supposed to be) "civilians" also. Though I could see where - with the obscene amount of militarization of municipal police forces - you might make that mistaken distinction...

The man was shot in the back running away after being stopped on a bullshit
traffic stop and now Geraldo wants to justify it because the cop had his "blood
boiling?" Got to give Roger Ailes credit he can spin anything.

Clearly this white cop shoot a black man in the back several times, and the panel of Fox and Friends says the Cop was justified. Even with evidence in their faces, they have mental blinders on and can not see.

.... after being stopped by armed cop, and we know the recent history of unarmed African Americans being shot by cops.

THAT'S the context that the odious Rivera completely ignores.

Get ready for another round of incredibly divisive race baiting on this topic.

BTW I'm fucking sick and tired of Geraldo and his bullshit. This guy goes ballistic whenever there's racist, anti-Latino/immigrant nonsense in the media, but has no problem turning around to shit all over black Americans en masse. It's disgusting example of trying to assimilate by stomping on the neck of somebody that you perceive to be lower on the food chain.

The cop didn't have a scratch on him, nor was his uniform. Not that it would have made a difference. I say give him the death penalty.
