For the first time in the road headed into the 2016 election, we finally have true, honest candidate. Bernie Sanders is running for president, and progressives everywhere are on their feet alongside him. Along with Elizabeth Warren, Sanders has been a champion against economic injustice in the United States, and it is almost certain that he will essentially reshape Progressive politics going in to 2016.

(9,126 posts)I saw it on the face of a coworker yesterday when I casually mentioned Bernie. A huge grin spread across her face and she said, "I know, I can't believe it. I'm so excited." Young, Latina, not a political junkie. When I asked her why, she said "He seems honest." Yuuuuuup.

(631 posts)There is no retort to honestly driven emotion. The more he is painted as the 'crazy communist' the more people will want to hear what he has to say.
If it's true that 58% of young people view Socialism favorably, then Hillary could lose the youth vote to Bernie.

(17,988 posts)Will shake up the whole election. Politicians will be falling over their feet to tell us what needs to be done.
Bernie may have come in at just the right time because people are sick to death of bought and sold Politicians.
I have admired President Obama until he decided to bring up the TPP. I still like most of what he has done,some things, not so much. But he completely lost me on this one.
