10. The wording
Tue May 5, 2015, 01:04 PM
May 2015

I'm sure if it was worded differently, there would be better results.

For example: "do you support an increase in taxes on the mega wealthy, in order to provide better opportunity for middle class families?"

The word government, and them performing an action of "spreading" is probably what gives the lower numbers as Americans don't like that word and they don't really trust the government to do the right thing.

the rich don't pay what they should?

I believe the data will show when comparing taxes paid vs income group the percentage of taxes paid by that group is lower than claimed.

15. FAIR SHARE ... not REDISTRIBUTION
Tue May 5, 2015, 01:38 PM
May 2015

The rich get MORE than their fair share of the wealth that is produced by the labor of working Americans.

HIGHER TAXES on the rich ensures they pair their FAIR SHARE to support the system that has made them wealthy.

It is NOT REDISTRIBUTION when those taxes go towards infrastructure & education, without which the economic system would spiral downwards.

In Fact, a DOWNWARD SPIRAL is what's been happening for decades with conservative/neo-liberal economic policies.

Surely with enough propaganda, Fox News and the Koch brothers can swing those numbers back around.

20. I think America has discovered over the last decade or so money has been redistributed to the 1%
Tue May 5, 2015, 02:30 PM
May 2015

After just doing my taxes and seeing how I have to pay an added 10% penalty tax on early distributions of my IRAs last year when I had no other resources and couldn't use a loophole to get rid of that simply because I was unemployed two times (and paying for six months of health insurance then) for two months each rather than being unemployed for three STRAIGHT months (and only paying for four months of health insurance) which is a stupid arbitrary rule that lets some people off the hook, and not others. And of course the wealthy just don't touch these funds since they don't have to and never pay that 10% added tax that really only hits those that are in the lower half of the wealth pyramid. There are many other such stupid hidden rules in areas like this that many people don't know exist and work against them until they're doing their taxes.

Here's an article that documents how taxes like these, inheritance taxes, sales taxes, payroll taxes, capital gains taxes, etc. have all been structured to allow the rich to not be taxed where the rest of us have been more, in effect redistributing the nation's wealth to the wealthy, as statistics have shown in terms of measuring wealth today versus a few decades ago.

http://thismatter.com/opinion/2012/republican-tax-policy.htm

Americans are tired of this crap, and you bet they want to see the wealthy start to pay their share, and are going to want to vote in someone that's not owned by the wealthy lobbyists to get this to happen! Go Bernie! Just DO IT!

Trickle, tickle, twitch, or tweet, isn’t getting the American culture a reality living wage, or good Health Care. American politics is so loaded with lies, how can anyone keep sanity.

The dysfunctional part of our social system is that it is not hard to create jobs. They know it, it appears to be a mental thing to shout out for more troops to Iraq. Or, fear, fear, fear, terror, terror, terror is the news theme in a daily drum beat. We need to spend more on security is the mantra.

Rationality and healthiness of the human mind is based on education, with social needs addressed, but we trim education, that is our taxes not spent to service the masses, will eventually drive the population insane. Contrast how social services like the police get military equipment is that trickle notion through redistribution of your taxes. Like any tyranny the rich push society to the brink.

The fundamental of eminent domain has breached the public good. The American corporate franchise systems are a failure. Very poor healthy food, now need bottled water or lacking a living wage America prospers to obesity, cancer, and dementia.

Commercials on free air television are loaded with lies especially by the communications companies, the insurance companies, and construction companies. Oh yes and those bankers who already took your tax dollars and are asking for more.

Everyday advertisements for lawyer services saturate the television air waves, even getting your social security cannot be done fairly without a lawyer. Advertisement after advertisement says billions of dollars are in escrow for the citizen to collect for poisoned accidents, act now, that said all likely a lie…

Redistribution of money means taking from those that have it. There is no one out there that has the courage to build America in an improved way…without war…

Think about it. Some corporate officer from any company that does a lot of business with the federal government is a no brainer. Of course most of his or her income is right out of our pockets. Then anyone invested in the right corporations probably makes a huge haul. What they pay in is a joke and even some of what they do pay still comes back to them! It's really like the ruling class living off taxing the peasants in the middle ages.
