Prayer meetings.
Hillary Clinton participated in their weekly women's prayer and bible reading group. Men and women are segregated. Women interns serve as cooks and maids. Men interns do yard work.
All members are sworn to secrecy about their affiliation.
Sharlet's book, 'The Family' was published in 2009 but I only caught up with it last year and I was horrified. Particularly with their worst of the worst mass murderers as organizational models to emulate Mao, Hitler, and Stalin, and their currying favor with modern mass murdering and oppressive despots.
What they seek is access to power and affirm the powerful that their power is biblically justified.
When George Bush rejected "The Fellowship" brand of Christianity, Doug Coe, the head of The Fellowship, called up Bill Clinton to complain. And Bill assured Coe that George would 'get it' i.e. that George would ultimately understand.

You have one witness that says Hillary participated... One fucking witness.
You're gonna need a lot more fucking proof than that.
Nice Zombie catching headline.!

This is a vile group. And we cannot trust anyone who belongs. Especially HRC. Either she believes that crap, or she is so two faced that she will say or do anything to get elected. Either way, I'd prefer someone who has an honest opinion BEFORE they poll the issue.

(2,741 posts)Your response is right on target...reading her real history and involvement with The Family, whose members believe the rich and powerful should rule no matter how inhuman or corrupt they are...I have heard those words almost exactly from a friend who just happens to be a proud member of the 1%...

(62,325 posts)Of course it will go nowhere, but it tells ME a lot about those who have tried it. I doubt people who USE race and women this way, care one bit about them frankly.
And all they do when they try this is to cause some of US to ask questions we might not have thought to ask before. Eg, Bernie and the Clintons are of the same generation basically, They all lived through the '60s and '70s. We KNOW what Bernie was doing re Civil Rights back then, now that they have raised this issue, I wondered, what was Hillary doing? Was she out there marching as Bernie was, I don't know and if she was, excellent and there is no way I would say to her in that case 'not good enough'. Wow, is all I can say.

(22,308 posts)She admits to this herself in her book, yet you dismiss it out of hand as "Bullshit".
Are you sure that you really do support Hillary or do you just support the idea of Hillary? It seems that you don't have any idea who she is.

(18,124 posts)they have longevity and are dangerous to what little democracy there still is. Period. And IF HRC was even loosely associated, that's another nail in her political coffin, as far as I'm concerned.

They need to live among the people they represent, once they have been in Washington for awhile they no longer represent their constituents they represent their political peers, donors, and lobbyists and as this shows they can be manipulated by nefarious forces.

(30,058 posts)Who wants to be wooed by Democrats? Now this thread is not wooing me any so guess the wooing time has passed. Say what you want, Hillary is more experienced, has a great record and has foreign experience, sticking with the best, Hillary.
BTW, she does pray and read scriptures, guess this is a failure.

(27,818 posts)... Hillary is the embodiment of all that is evil in the world.
She is/was undoubtedly a member of all kinds of secret cults, bent on the destruction not only of our country, but of civilization as we know it.
Her abject devotion to The Family is what led to the murder of Vince Foster because he was her secret lover and was also about to expose her lesbian relationships in a rit of fellous jage.
I am just grateful that I dont have to read (a) posts on FreeRepublic and/or (b) headlines in the tabloids at the grocery store check-out in order to keep apprised of this mindless twaddle thanks to politically well-informed DUers who are more than willing to post this mind-numbingly stupid-beyond-all-imagining bullshit here.

Why would anyone want to deliberately shut down discussion?
NanceGreggs
(27,818 posts)... NOT about HRC being a member - something which has been debunked repeatedly.
And yeah, you caught me - I really thought my one post on this subject would "shut down discussion".
Why is it that when some people are disagreed with on a discussion board, they accuse anyone who refuses to get on-board with their gibberish as trying to "shut down discussion"?
Apparently, it's not discussion you're looking for. What you want is complete agreement with whatever bullshit is being spewed, or complete silence from everyone who doesn't buy it.
