Can't say it didn't choke me up a bit as well. Bernie is tapping into the true spirit of the country, and I have little doubt he will do quite well. Thanks for posting this.

GO BERNIE!

My spidey sense is telling me this could really happen.

I felt the same about President Obama 8 years ago.

We're lucky enough to have more than we need to eat or live comfortably. But we very much count ourselves as amongst the lower middle class - retired - but lower middle class. Irrespective of our monetary worth, we both still have a lingering pride of citizenship.

We aren't of the means where we could just cut a check for the max we can give to Bernie's campaign. But I hereby pledge to MEET that amount so long as he stays in pursuit of the presidency. I owe it to those I care about - whether they see the light or not. So I'm going to start selling stuff that I've collected thru the years as a means to funding my pledge. Most of it's inconsequential stuff that nonetheless DOES have some small value. I could just leave it for my kids to sort out when we're gone. OR...... I can liquidate it and use the proceeds to leave them a greater gift than they could ever quantify.

A garage sale with a big sign reading 'All proceeds in support of Bernie for President'

We could wear and sell his t shirts too, oh this could be fun.

except for universal healthcare until Reagan started. As Bernie says, it's all MANMADE and can be undone by man, the system is not something that came down from the heavens.
Bravo Bernie! Thank you Yuiyoshida very much for this great post.
