This guy is a methodist, same as my family. Of course, my family would never do the shit he is.

I also liked how he said "it isn't slashing the meals budget". Maybe he can tell that to the people who will go hungry, because it will sure feel like that to them.

Oh, you're right, he looks like and is, a weasel.

Why have a government at all if it cannot perform even the most BASIC functions like ensuring the welfare of our most vulnerable citizens?

I hope senior citizens in this pig's district are paying attention. Barton, who looks like he's NEVER missed a meal has no problem literally taking food out of the mouths of the elderly.

starving them is the way he chooses to do it.

He delivers meals on wheels to shake hands and deliver campaign brochures.

I hope this guy has a hard time sleeping, after this interview.

As for the "God helps those, who help themselves" remark; it's no where in the Bible. And according to Wikipedia:

The remark is "...evidence of Americans' unfamiliarity with the Bible..." and "....that the statement actually conflicts with the Bible's view of God's kindness towards people, none of whom deserve it – 'grace'. It 'suggests a spiritual self-reliance inconsistent with Christianity'....".

13. Bashir worked hard, but Barton's heart is made of stone. He can go to hell with his tax shelter

Foundation and his faux charity, the one that he couldn't help gloating about the Six Figures there, the arrogant bastard. Those who don't have his favor who he doesn't consider to be 'good people' can just die, but don't tax him or his friends.

Bashir framed the argument and Barton ran from it. Mind you, this is the same guy who apologized to BP. And that started this movement going:

You Should Totally Apologize to BP:

17. Yes, there's plenty of video of the tool at work, begging Hayworth's forgiveness in Congress.

The GOP shills have reposted some of them which don't look as egregious and try to show him as a tough guy, but it was very inflammatory at time.

I recall when this tool was elected, he was never anything but a pig. Same cloth as Tom Delay, the gift of fascism that keeps on giving. There are still photos of Delay's brown shirts who were identified and posted on the picture of when they terrorized poll workers in FL in 2000. I posted it along with the article, called something like 'Where are they now?'

Most working for the GOP and holding well- paid corporate jobs now, they are. The congressional aides were organized by Delay (the Speaker at the time) flown down there, housed and fed on the taxpayer's dime, to interfere (a federal crime) to create a media show to manufacture consent to justify the coup of 2000.

I watched as Dan Rather was forced to recant the exit polls, which had been regarded as reliable, that Gore won FL. The call came down from Welch who actively campaigned against Gore and said he was the candidate of welfare women and he wasn't going to let it happen.

The poll results contradicted Ailes' Fox network announcing Bush the winner. There was the famous call of George to Jeb saying, 'You said it was a done deal,' or some such crap. So they went about to manufacture the perception there was a problem with Gore's win.

It is a matter of record blacks were turned away with road blocks in some areas by police to stop them voting, and Jeb's corporate pals muddied the FL data base with ex-felons living in TX to challenge the voting eligible black FL residents to deny them the vote.

These crooks saw to it that Bush was going to win in 2000 no matter what tricks they had to do. I saw this on television, but this was documented by Palast. There were so many stunts done, so many more paid people like Barton. Now they keep in office by pulling religious malarkey on the voters.

Delay, you know, had his staff go with his motto that 'when you knock your opponent down, you stomp on them and throw them off the cliff.' Nice Christian values they sell, this is the kind of thing you don't forget.

I watched on CSPAN as they did votes in the Bush years, and GOP congress critters like Barton were selling out the people with their signature on laws, to retire directly into business with the companies they were gifting. Now they don't even wait until they leave like Boehner, who passed out lobbyist checks on the floor to members.

GOP governance is the good old boy network. This is some of stuff that goes on, has been going on, will continue to as long as the GOP holds majority in any locale in this country. This kind of corruption most people don't imagine, having been brought in a society after the patronage system was outlaws. This is the GOP's libertarian > patrician > fascism model. Nothing has changed from the way Mussolini said it worked.

I was outraged. I was fairly new to the internet & the one site that I visited was one discussing a tv show ("Big Brother" ) &, at the time, the owner of the website was angry about the coup, also, so he created a forum page for discussing politics. Long story short, there were about a dozen or so of us who were Democrats & we were outnumbered by yokels who complained constantly about remarks they didn't like. Plus, it turned out that the owner was pro-outsourcing (!) & the heated exchanges about that topic were the beginning of the end of the politics forum.

We'll never forget, will we, freshwest. And look at the present political climate; it just gets worse & worse because Bush/Cheney got away with everything.
