Scientists Build Case for 'Sixth Extinction'...

Even conservative calculations show the world is in the midst of a sixth mass extinction that's being caused by our species — and is likely to lead to humanity's demise if unchecked, scientists reported Friday.

The scientists' analysis, published in the open-access journal Science Advances, follows up on more than a decade's worth of warnings about a rapid loss of global biodiversity. Many experts say the loss has risen to the scale seen during five previous global extinction events — the most recent of which occurred 65 million years ago when the dinosaurs died off... -MSNBC

Oil reserves running out in ~38 years
Human population estimated to be 9.6 - 10 billion by 2050 (35 years from now)
Declining fresh water aquifers across the globe

Deforestation, ocean acidification & pollution, extreme droughts, climate change & more frequent extreme weather events, and the list goes on and on.

Anyone care to add more crap onto the heap?

We are doomed on the current path.
No one wants to admit it but the "plan" is to try to allow the poor to die and the "rich" to survive and once those "excess" people (or 'takers' if you prefer) are gone there will be plenty left over.

The utter greed and myopia of the ruling class around the globe today is depressing.

NEWSFLASH to them all - Everyone dies, everyone of us. What you are doing now, or are trying to delay or prevent to protect your precious profits, is killing the future generations. You may or may not live long enough to see the consequences, but that doesn't make them any less real.

If I had my way, we would start having crimes against humanity trials NOW, before its too late to bring justice to those most guilty at Shell, BP, Exxon-Mobil and around the Persian Gulf...

and this response. I have said the same thing in groups and either it's quick lip service or nothing. We know it's on the way and yet can't stop it or won't in the case of the deluded !%ers thinking a mass die off will save them. We all really are F'd.

let's me have the food I need to survive, the trees to grow to rid this planet of carbon dioxide poisoning the ultimate filter, and the process to filter the water, when they touch the trees and the flowers to blossom---------when they go-------------- we go.
