Pope Francis Scares The Living Hell Out of GOP Candidates

Jeb Bush has taken the Rick Santorum approach to Catholicism by telling Pope Francis that he needs to stay out of the climate change debate.

Jeb, a Catholic, believes that the Church should stay out of the issue altogether, and that Pope Francis needs to focus more on making us better people. News flash for Jeb Bush – mitigating climate change and protecting billions of people will make you a better person.

Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins discusses this.

But it's from under DU's skirts in some unknown forum. It means nothing.

I belive it's different for a public figure, for a Catholic and from an international media campaign platform.

Maybe he would like to engage the church in some competition with the state. Who will be the boss of whom?

Isn't it? So, why are you trying to shut up God's mouthpiece?

I just don't understand why that argument doesn't go both ways.

They will have to rub elbows with the refugees from Republican welfare cuts - there could then ensue fierce competition for a piece of the handout pie.

Yeah, Jeb - is helping your brother to steal an election, or being one of the first neocons to get on the Iraq War bandwagon what you consider to be "becoming a better person"?

7. In reality, Francis was invited to speak to Congress by Boehner and the Republicans because they

share his views on a great many issues, including all of the US politics Francis has taken part in, anti gay and anti choice politics, Republicans and Francis worked to help the Hobby Lobby gut the ACA, Francis supports the March For Life as do the Republicans. Recently Francis was keynote speaker at a Vatican conference to oppose marriage equality, invited attendees included Tony Perkins of FRC, both founders of NOM, the head of the Southern Baptists, head of LDS and the Heritage Foundation.
So yeah, Republicans are so afraid of Francis they attend conferences with him in Rome and then invite him to the Republican controlled Congress.
