Selfish CEOs Are Overpaid and Underskilled

The ratio of CEO to worker pay has hit a record high in America, creating the worst income gap in modern history. Republicans argue that this gap is necessary because CEOs possess skills that ordinary workers just don’t have. A new study tells us that this isn’t the case.

Ring of Fire's Mike Papantonio and attorney Michael Burg discuss that study.

Thanks for posting.

The chief executive officers of America’s largest firms earn three times more than they did 20 years ago and at least 10 times more than 30 years ago, big gains even relative to other very-high-wage earners. These extraordinary pay increases have had spillover effects in pulling up the pay of other executives and managers, who constitute a larger group of workers than is commonly recognized.1

Even as the company my husband used to work for outsources decent paying IT jobs to Asia, they continue to hire Directors & VPs with huge salaries. Why aren't these upper management positions ever up for outsourcing?

Good video. The whole "CEOs are special" is a scam. Like Mike says, worker productivity has never been higher but the CEO gets all the credit & the payoff. And then uses it to buy lobbying to further the interests of the rich. It's disgusting.

Nice mention of Bernie Sanders at the end!

These pampered little powder puffs don't have any skills other than conniving and thievery.

We weren't invited.

It's never been a meritocracy, just a society of who-knows-who (or who-diditto-who.) That's why blackmail (or kidnapping) is considered such a heinous crime - it can be used against the elites.

5. Big shot CEOs are highly skilled at sitting on their asses all day, farting in Italian silk suits

doing lunch, attending congratulatory banquets, struggling to improve their golf game, going on expensive trips and holidays in private jets, moving to ever more high-paying jobs whether their company made a profit or not, and parachuting in their golden parachutes.

10. What sets CEOs apart and why corporations pay them big bucks is that they're good sociopaths.

Yup. That's their skill. Being sociopaths: being able to fire productive workers, forcing the rest to work 80 hour weeks, never giving them a raise and doing all that with a smile. All you workers with a conscience need not apply.

But it's tough to find a good sociopath that is not drooling, is eloquent and knows how to look good in a suit. Those folks are snapped up and earn top dollar.
